Born and raised in Nebraska, this Los Angeles based writer/director is known for feel-good comedies with a lot of heart. Jonnie has won the $50,000 Louisiana Film Prize TWICE in 2016 and 2018 for his films “The Man from Mars” and “Funky Butt.” His stories follow likeable protagonists the audience can fall in love with. Touching on themes of mental illness, religion, social media and magical trumpets, you’re sure to walk away with a smile on your face. A passion for choreography, he’s known for weaving dance into his films whenever he can.
